Pick up from your hotel/Riad in Marrakech & travel with a well-maintained & air-conditioned 4WD or minivan. Drive through the spectacular High-Atlas Mountains crossing the Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2260 m), which is the highest Pass in the north of Africa. Cross the city of Ouarzazate (Hollywood of Africa) that has been used as a backdrop for shooting many national & international films such as Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven, Prince of Persia, Lawrence of Arbia, and many others.

After lunch, which will take place in the lush Dades Valley, we resume our journey to Merzouga desert passing by Tinghir, Tinejdad & Erfoud. Once we arrive to Riad Kasbah Aiour, you will go on a camel ride experience while watching the miraculous view of the sunset. You will be amazed by the beauty of the nature along with the lights of Aiour Luxury Desert Camp that turn the place into a romantic setting, which everyone can dream of.

A warm welcome from the staff members with mint or absinthe tea as a Moroccan ritual before enjoying a delicious meal for dinner followed by a session of music using drums and castanets. Later, you may want to stretch your legs in the soft sand while stargazing, then culminate the day with a relaxing sleep in your private & ensuite tent.

Day 2 - Explore the Desert Area

Early wake up in the morning, climb the sand dune up to attend the stunning view of the sunrise. Return to the camp for having breakfast under the sunlight or inside the tented restaurant. After taking a refreshing shower, we will spend most of the day exploring the desert area starting with getting a great insight into the local system of irrigation known as “Khettaras”. Then, visit the Khamlia Village that is inhabited by Africans brought as slaves in the Sub-Saharan Lands. They are known for the “Gnawa Music”, which they are accustomed to performing to guest visitors.

Have a complete tour around the majestic sand dune field of Erg Chebbi that offers exceptional panoramic views. We will then visit a nomad family that lives in a tent while learning about their unique style of life. After lunch, we will drive back to our Riad where we will have a nice dinner and spend the night in a comfortable room.

Day 3 - Merzouga Desert - Nkob - Ouarzazate - Marrakech

After breakfast, we will drive back to Marrakech following a different route across the spectacular Anti-Atlas Mountains passing by Nkob with its countless Kasbahs (fortresses). Drive over the Tizi n’Tichka Pass while including many short breaks for chilling out and for taking memorable shots. Get to Marrakech in the evening.
