Day 1 - Fes - Ifrane - Ziz Valley - Merzouga

Pick up from your hotel/Riad in the imperial city of Fes & embark on an interesting journey crossing the lush Middle-Atlas Mountains with its UNESCO-listed cedar forests & Barbary Macaques. En route, we will pass by the charmin city of Ifrane, which is a ski resort and one of the cleanest cities in the world. 

After lunch, we will drive through the spectacular High-Atlas Mountains that offer panoramic views. Take pictures of the palm valley of Ziz before continuing on the track to the majestic Sahara desert of Merzouga where you can go on a camel while watching the miraculous view of the sunset.

Dinner will be served in the Aiour luxury desert camp in a romantic setting with lights turning the arena into a thousand and one night. Dinner will be followed by a session of music to get entertained, then you many want to stretch your legs in the soft sand stargazing before culminating the day with a nice sleep in your private ensuite tent.

Day 2 - Explore the Desert Area

Early wake up in the morning, climb the sand dune up to attend the stunning view of the sunrise. Later, enjoy a refreshing breakfast under the sunlight or inside our tented restaurant. After taking a shower, we will spend most of the day exploring the desert area.

We will initially make a visit to the local “Khettaras”, which form a sophisticated system of irrigation that consists of conveying water from afar to the oasis of Merzouga by digging wells and interconnect them with an underground channel.

Visit the Khamila Village that is resided by a tribe from the Sub-Saharan Lands brought as slaves and are known for the “Gnawa Music”, which they perform to visitors. Later, we will have a circuit around the majestic sand dune field of Erg Chebbi with its sand dunes standing like waves on an ocean.

We will visit a local nomad family that lives in a tent offering an opportunity to learn about their unique style of life and how they have been able to endure the hard life. After lunch, we will return to the Riad Kasbah Aiour, which is a luxury hotel in Merzouga desert being located by the feet of the sand dunes.

Dinner and overnight will take place in the Riad.

Day 3 - Merzouga Desert - Todra Gorge - Ouarzazate - Marrakech

After breakfast, we will head to Marrakech passing by the valley of Roses where we may want to include a short break to learn about the local products. Have a nice lunch in Ouarzazate (Hollywood of Africa) before crossing the spectacular High-Atlas Mountains driving through the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, which is the highest Pass in the north of Africa. Arrive in Marrakech in the evening.
